Wearing a wrong pair of Shoes
My aunt is a shoe lover. – Before she got married – she used to buy shoes almost once a month. The model is diverse, ranging from high heels, short heels, strappy shoes, or sneakers. But since she got married and had children, she did not really like to wear high heels anymore because she did not feel comfortable wearing them.
Her shoe collection was switched into the collection of flat-heeled shoes. In addition to its convenience factor, wearing flat-heeled shoes supports the mobility of her daily life more and more – from the dropping and picking up the kids, shopping the market to working.
Her favorite shoes are flat-heeled shoes made of dark brown leather that she bought from the nearest mall. Wherever she went, she always wore them because the shoes were suitable for casual or formal occasions. Because she wore these shoes every day, soon they were worn out.
Because she had already been “in love” with this shoe model, she bought one more pair with the same brand, same model but with a slightly different color light- brown. She only wore these new shoes when she went to work or went to formal occasions, such as the party.
One day, My aunt and I were invited to come to the circumcision party of her son’s school friend, Rizal. She took her son to the event, too because she was not too familiar with the boy who was circumcised and his parents. So, she wore her new shoes.
So we went to the party. After reaching the place, we shook hands with Rizal and with his parents. Then we continued with the “meals”. We noticed that many other guests looked at us and smiled suspiciously. I wondered why people were smiling at us. I thought they were just friendly guests.
Finishing the meal, we intended to go home because the sky was cloudy and it started to drizzle. So I asked my aunt to go home immediately because I was afraid that we were caught in the rain because we went there by a motorcycle. Once we reached the parking lot, and my aunt took her motor bike, then we realized there was something wrong with my aunt’s shoes ….
Oh MY God!!
It turned out that my aunt wore a wrong pair of shoes. The one she wore on the right foot was her old shoe and on the left foot she wore her new shoe!! Now that I understand why people were looking at us and smiling. Maybe they saw my aunt wearing a different pair of shoes. So we hurriedly went home before many other people realized this silliness. On the way home we could not stop laughing. We were laughing at my aunt’s silliness. J
